Young children have a strong thirst for knowledge and are naturally curious. We have embraced this mindset and created a relaxed learning environment for children, so that they can naturally master the skills of English conversation. Just a few lessons can greatly improve children's confidence in English conversation!
Each class features conversation and phonics exercises, singing, active games and storytelling. Through our curriculum, children are exposed to English early, building their confidence and improving their fluency. The curriculum provides children with a solid foundation in reading and writing, which will help them develop in the future.
Progress Reports
We report on Learning Outcomes in three broad areas: (1) listening and speaking, (2) reading and writing, and (3) social and emotional development. Within these learning outcomes there are ten learning categories*, each containing a set of ‘Can Do Statements’ and we provide feedback on children’s progress in each of these learning categories. Our ‘Learning Achievement System’ is based on a child’s overall mastery of the ‘Can Do Statements’** for each category:
Mastering |
Can reliably do the task(s) independently, without help |
Achieving |
Can usually do the task(s) independently without help |
Developing |
Usually needs help to do the task(s) to reach mastery |
Needing Development |
Not ready for the task(s) yet |
Not Applicable (N/A) |
Task(s) not yet attempted in class |
*The ten learning categories are listed on the front of our progress report.
** The ‘Can Do Statements’ for each learning category are listed on the back of our progress reports.
